amaha sellassie

President, Gem City Market board of trustees and coexecutive director, Co-Op Dayton

amaha sellassie is a peace builder, social healer, freedom fighter, network weaver, and lover of humanity. He currently serves as president of the Gem City Market board of trustees, as coexecutive director of Co-Op Dayton, and a 2024 Kettering Foundation Dayton Democracy Fellow. He is also a cofounder of West Dayton Strong, a STEAM-based summer and afterschool program in public housing. sellassie is a faculty member at Sinclair College and a member of the Spectrum New Beginnings board of trustees. He is completing his doctorate at the University of Cincinnati where his research focuses on ending food apartheid.
