Kevin O’Donnell
Social Studies Teacher, Meadowdale Career Technology Center
Kevin O’Donnell teaches media, government, and debate at Meadowdale Career Technology Center, a Dayton Public School. He advises the student council, which is preparing to publish their fourth voter guide and organizing their third Youth Testimony Day at the Ohio Statehouse. O’Donnell is also a Kettering Foundation 2025 Dayton Democracy Fellow. In rebuilding the media program at Meadowdale, O’Donnell has found support from WYSO, The Journalism Lab, and the Greater Dayton Association of Black Journalists. Since its relaunch in 2023, he has coordinated the Meadowdale Band, which has performed with the Luv Locz Experiment, Ayanna Gregory, and Deron Bell. He also works with Central State University’s Upward Bound program as a summer instructor and year-round site coordinator.
