Mike Squire
Division Manager of Community Engagement, City of Dayton
Mike Squire is the division manager of community engagement for the City of Dayton, where he leads efforts to strengthen community across its 65 neighborhoods, and a Kettering Foundation 2025 Dayton Democracy Fellow. His work centers on building community leadership and capacity, increasing civic engagement, and fostering effective communication between Dayton’s residents, stakeholders, and the city. With a deep commitment to service, Squire has previously held roles with United Way of the Greater Dayton Area, the Ohio Army National Guard, and a variety of nonprofit organizations, including Safe Families for Children, Coalition of Care, and the Huffman Historic Neighborhood Association. He is a deacon in his church and has previously served on the city’s Community and Neighborhood Development Advisory Board. He has received several awards, including the Army Achievement Medal, the CEO’s Award for Leadership Impact, and the Joseph T. Cline Award. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Wright State University. Squire and his wife, Jennifer, and their four children are proud Dayton residents. He is guided by the principles of Micah 6:8: “Do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God.” Driven by his passion for faith, family, and community, he works hard to make Dayton a better place for all.
