Peter Benkendorf

Founder, The Collaboratory

Since 1992, Peter Benkendorf has been engaged in collaborative civic innovation and developing and cocreating initiatives that add social, civic, cultural, democratic, and economic value to the communities in which he has lived. He is the founder of the Collaboratory and a 2024 Kettering Foundation Dayton Democracy Fellow. Currently, Benkendorf is leading the Community of Well-Being Initiative, a seven-county effort to build a more thriving region by empowering individuals and communities to realize potential by experiencing well-being in a new way. In collaboration with Gallup, the initiative will measure current levels of well-being and work with local partners to find ways to increase well-being and promote human flourishing.
