The Kettering Foundation is proud to announce the opening of its new Washington, DC, office, located on Pennsylvania Avenue in the heart of downtown. The new office features upgraded convening space and more room for Kettering’s growing presence in the nation’s capital.

This expansion represents an exciting opportunity to increase the frequency and impact of our convenings and dialogues and allow Kettering to strengthen its partnerships, convene more frequently with a wider range of events, and enhance its mission of connecting research with impactful practice.

At a special opening reception held on September 15, the International Day of Democracy, Kettering president and CEO Sharon L. Davies welcomed colleagues, senior fellows, and leaders from across the democracy field, emphasizing the need for clarity about the gravity of the moment, courage to act in defense of inclusive democratic values, and coalitions to work together and tap the power of numbers. The reception included Kettering Senior Fellows María Teresa Kumar and Kelley Robinson, Freedom House Presidents Gerardo Berthin and Annie Boyajian, and nearly 100 leaders from more than 40 pro-democracy organizations.

Establishing this expanded presence in DC underscores Kettering’s commitment to bringing people together to confront threats to democracy.
