Lisa Boone-Berry
Content Development Specialist, Democracy around the Globe
Lisa Boone-Berry is the content development specialist for Democracy around the Globe. She is passionate about crafting meaningful content that highlights the work people are doing in support of democracy. Boone-Berry develops, writes, and edits various types of materials for the Democracy around the Globe team, including social media posts, an online newsletter, presentations, blogs, and reports. Along with the other members of the Democracy around the Globe team, she works to raise awareness about emerging threats to democracy and amplifying efforts to respond to them.
Before officially joining the Kettering Foundation in 2018, she collaborated with the foundation as a freelance copy editor and indexer, helping to refine and shape their publications. Boone-Berry’s editorial career has spanned diverse sectors, including editing educational content in-house for The Mazer Corporation; working with major publishers like McGraw-Hill, Holt, and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt; and freelancing with an array of nonprofits, businesses, and publishers. Her work has spanned from creating online curricula for LearningMate to editing culinary textbooks for Johnson & Wales University to crafting content for the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance.
Born and raised in Ohio, Boone-Berry has a BA in English from the University of Dayton. When not reading or writing, she relaxes in the kitchen where she enjoys cooking and baking her way through shelves and shelves of cookbooks.
