Content Development Specialist, Democracy around the Globe
Lisa Boone-Berry is the content development specialist for the Democracy around the Globe focus area, where she crafts compelling content that highlights the work people are doing to advance inclusive democracies around the globe. She develops and edits a range of materials—including social media content, newsletters, presentations, blogs, and reports—to raise awareness of emerging threats and amplify democratic responses across borders.
Before joining the Kettering Foundation in 2018, Boone-Berry partnered with the foundation as a freelance copy editor and indexer. Her editorial career spanned a variety of sectors and styles, from in-house educational publishing at The Mazer Corporation and working with major publishers like McGraw-Hill, Holt, and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, to freelance work with an array of nonprofits, businesses, and publishers. She has created online curricula for LearningMate, edited culinary textbooks for Johnson & Wales University, and written arts-focused content for the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance.
Born and raised in Ohio, Boone-Berry has a BA in English from the University of Dayton. When not reading or writing, she relaxes in the kitchen where she enjoys cooking and baking her way through shelves and shelves of cookbooks.
